IMPORTANT: This is not an application for any degree granting program at Cornell University. To apply for a graduate program at Cornell University, please visit the main website for the program you are interested in, and find the graduate school application there.
US citizens and residents who fulfill one or more of the criteria listed below are eligible to apply. Individuals granted deferred action status under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program are encouraged to apply. Applications from underrepresented minority students of color are especially encouraged.
- African American/Black, Latinx or Hispanic, Native American, Pacific Islander, or South Asian
- First-generation college student
- Other underrepresented backgrounds that have posed significant challenges to academic advancement, including, but not limited to, those with disabilities, LGBTQIA, and low-income.

Personal statement: 1-2 pages describing why you want to attend this preview weekend and why you are considering graduate school in a science or environmental field related to ecology, evolutionary biology, entomology, or plant sciences. We want to know what you love about science and what you hope to take away from this visit to Cornell. This is also an opportunity to explain any issues with grades, discontinuity in enrollment, or other information in your record that you would like us to understand.
